mr. toad gets laid off....

well, this might only be somewhat humorous to jeremy--you see, "mr. toad" is one of my main characters on the MMO city of heroes...so, i think this is probably what he'd most likely do if he were to be "laid off" as a superhero--relive the glory days at a local pub, re-telling the same stories (all of them 100% true, mind you) over and over to the unfortunate patrons...whilst drinking....a LOT....

well sir, you have outdone yourself. this is my favorite thing you've done so far. i'm not sure anyone else will like it as much, but they dont play city of heroes so screw em. i love the guys around him at the bar, CLEARLY not wanting anything to do with him- and the full beer at the empty seat on the right with the hastily paid tab on the bar. i also love the "villains" he's fighting in his story, everything from vampires to a giant t-rex to what appears to be a bald eagle. there's only one thing i take issue with here sir- in mr. toad's story of old times and high adventure.........why isnt there room for grrr...?

it's great. You don't even need to be in on the 'inside joke' to get it.

Good stuff.

aheheh--well, jer, my only excuse for not including toad's bromance partner is that, toad, of course, in his inebriated state, would promptly deny he would need any help from anyone--you've seen him run into groups first before--"dude, it's cool, i got NOVA..." 3 seconds later--".....anyone got an awaken...?"

Man, this is the schmuck I get stuck with at bars....and I got to listen to their stories all night long.

I agree with Josh, you really don't need to be in on the joke to get it. And the story he's telling ROCKS, better than the crap I've had to listen to. Maybe for a follow up he'd go on and on about the super-hero babes he's nailed.....lord, I keep getting those stories from the endless losers in dives.....bastards.

I got to do more complete illustrations like this, Seamus. Great work!

Seamas,
Once again an awesome job. I love it. The colors, the rendering, and storytelling. It's all there. I recognize him from city of heroes. I can see where the game really helps on this topic. Great job. He looks like he could still kick ass.

Mr. Toad's a pansy ass......... he could never take on that many skulls on his own and survive......let alone a bald eagle and little green alien as well.
